CBC Searchlight 2019!

I’m so excited that my song Drowning In Tears is in the running for Searchlight 2019 – CBC Music’s annual hunt for Canada’s undiscovered talent.

Place your vote here.

The song Downing In Tears features a gripping string quartet arrangement, a stellar performance by iconic Canadian harmonica player Roly Platt, and beautiful vocal harmonies from none other than Canadian recording artist Mati Haskell.

The song speaks to the issue of violence against women because I believe it’s time, it’s time to put an end to the abuse of women!

“The song Drowning In Tears tells a story, a story that’s playing out all over the world, a story of a strong and triumphant woman taking back her power.” – DS

You can hear the song at this link and cast your vote in the Searchlight 2019 Competition.

A good predictor of who advances from Round 1 of the competition is the number of votes each artist receives: “50 of the top 100 artists will make it to Round 2 based on votes and the other 50 will make it through by internal judging from CBC Music producers. Getting your fans out could make a huge difference to your chances to move on in the contest. Fans can cast a vote for their favourite song once per day.”

I am asking you to please vote for Don Sawchuk – Drowning In Tears once each day during Round 1 of the voting period starting Feb 5th, 3 pm. through Feb 14, 3 pm.

Please copy this link to your calendar Vote Today as a daily reminder from Feb 5 – 14 to vote once per day.
